Welcome to The Museum of Thimble Holders
You are visiting the website of a private collection that numbers over 2,600 pieces divided into over twenty display cases, each dedicated to a specific category of items dating from the 18th to the 20th century.
Having the luxury of putting together a museum with the items that are the fruit of a lifelong passion is the wild dream of any collector!
And being able to share these finds is to discover a new source of exquisite joy!
We have managed to make this dream come true by creating this museum.
We were keen to transcend the customary, general and traditional attitudes towards the humble thimble and related needlework tools and we have dedicated our collection to all objects, past and present, that "carry" a thimble in one way or another.
All of these items have been used by delicate and diligent hands devoted to needlework.
We are delighted to invite you to make up your own leisurely stroll around the vast and sumptuous sphere of thimble holders and sewing accessory holders that include a thimble, shepherded by your interests and your fantasy and with this obliging and simple content index as your only guide.
If your visit manages to enrapture you at the dazzling sight of some of the showstoppers on display, you will have accomplished our sole aim of enabling you to step inside our dream!
